“What do the 80s mean to today?” Question Answer

Culture is irrelevant, especially pop culture. in the grand scheme of human history. We in the United States of America had two great Presidents that decade, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, who were able to win the cold war and defeat the Soviet Union. The victory of the cold war led to the collapse of Communism in Europe, the reunification of Germany, and the collapse of the Soviet Union, leaving the United States of America as the dominant global superpower. This has remained true to modern day, although China is gaining strength, and almost 30 years after the ending of the USSR, ironically, more and more people are being led by liars and corrupt politicians to neo-communism/socialism.

Overall, I find the theme to be irrelevant, just as culture is irrelevant. Technology and politics are far more important, and this is what the group should discuss and debate.
