Google Chrome converted into a sound file sounds glorious; it makes a great alarm
I got the .exe file from an old version of the Google Chrome internet Browser, and read the raw data as an audio file in Audacity. The assignment asked for a horrible sound, and the worst sounds are when the computer tries to read as a sound file something that isn’t designed to be read as a sound file; it usually results in painfully loud white noise, random and chaotic screeching, or both. After importing Google Chrome’s .exe file, I found an excellent segment which combined the worst aspects of importing non-sound files, and saved that as a separate sound file. I choose the assignment because I use something similar to wake me up. Any sound which can cause a 20-year old college student with no coffee, 1 hour of sleep in the past 24 hours, and a tendency to sleep through alarms to immediately wake up and stay awake is a horrid sound in my books. Feel free to use this as an alarm, as it will work 100% of the time, I can guarantee.
